Steven Urueta's research focuses on designing and implementing VR systems for educational use, including face-to-face and distance learning applications. Dr. Urueta holds a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from the Graduate School of System Design and Management (SDM) at Keio University and is currently implementing larger-scale VR systems for virtual study abroad experiences.
目白大学外国部学部専任講師。教育用VRシステムの設計と対面学習や遠隔学習におけるVRシステムの実用化について研究しています。アメリカのケースウエスタンリザーブ大学を卒業後、東京大学大学院で修士(学際情報学)、慶應義塾大学大学院システムデザイン・マネジメント研究科(SDM)で博士(システムエンジニアリング学)を取得。日本の企業で技術者としての活躍を経て、埼玉大学、東京大学、電気通信大学など首都圏の教育機関で科学英語の指導を開始。現在、バーチャルな留学体験を目的とした、大規模なVRシステムの実用化に取り組んでいます。
